Outside the board meeting hundreds of fans protested. From inside Hammarby the team captain wondered what was happening to his club.

Linus Hallenius has been sold, taken back and sold again. A chairman and a vice president have left. 9000 kilometers from Stockholm a worldwide celebrity is pissed off. A celebrity who is chairman of the tiny organization Bajensvin [Bajen pigs] Hollywood.

Things gotten worse
Alexander Skarsgård writes in an open letter that he himself has joined in and called the board “raving neighborhoodbar-alcoholics who haven`t even graduated from ninth grade” several years ago.
But now it`s even worse.
“Today it`s easier to be really pissed off. The internal battles and individuals serving themselves alternating and Hammarby is torn apart in front of us,” he writes and encourages all Bajenfans to become members and influence the club in trouble.

I know this is not about cancer research. Or fighting waling in Japan. But everyone who has ever been to Söder stadium and seen 15,000 fans stand up and sing “Just i dag är jag stark” understand that a world without Hammarby football would be a tiny bit poorer.
At least for some of us.
All the time, while I was growing up, Söder stadium and the Bajen stand was a a home. It could be messy and sometimes there would be a heated atmosphere on the stand, but one was always welcome and I`ve found a fellowship there I even today haven`t found anywhere else. When one is walking home over the bridge of Skantull, disappointed, there would always be some older guy who would put his arms on your shoulder and wheeze “we`ll get them the next time” (this was early 90s, light years before SM gold and All Swedish topp rankings).
Hammarby`s board is often being scorned by us supporters. They were raving neighborhoodbar-alcoholics who hadn`t even graduated from the ninth grade, people were swearing from the bars around Medis after yet another unsuccessful season. But it was sort of hard to become really angry. They were after all Bajens. They tried.

Today it is easier to become really pissed off. The internal battles and individuals serving themselves alternating and Hammarby is torn apart in front of us.
I have two humble pleas to all Hammarby-fans around the country.
The first: Let us promise each other never again to let anyone into Hammaby`s board who has another scheme than what is best for Hammarby Football. And should someone sneak in who sees an opportunity to personality grab a part of the cake then he should immediately be asked to leave the organization by 15,000 polite fans.
The other: Become a member of Hammarby Football. If you aren`t a member, you can`t go to the meeting or vote. This means, in my eyes, that you are also deprived of the right to sit around in the bars around Medis and swear over the mismanagement of the organization.
Of course we want a competent board who knows how to run a business. Preferably people who have graduated from ninth grade. But I want to see board members who understand that Hammarby is more than just another company. I don`t have any friends who have a tattoo of AstraZeneca on their chest or who have baptized their son Stora Enso. Unfortunately there are forces on today`s board who don`t understand this. Or they just give a shit about it.
Ultras, geezers, Christmas trees and oil skin coats….
We are Hammarby.
