Björne Larson (right) with Fares Fares.
Björne was born in Sweden on 27th October 1973. He's married to Lisa and got a little daughter called Lily.
He was working in marketing and had his own advertising agency for 6 years, Pepsi was one of his costumers.
Nowadays he's a director, writer and producer.
It was his dream to start something on his own in a field where his family can't help him. That's one of the reasons that drew him to the entertainment industry.
He likes to travel around and switching between LA and Stockholm, because he doesn't like being stagnant. But he's considering settling down in Sweden, once his daughter is 6 and starts school, because he doesn't think that she wants to grow up as an american teenager.
He stayed at home for 2 months with his wife after Lily was born.
For his productions he loves to work with more women, independently of the "traditionally" female jobs at movie productions because there are so many guys in this industry.
He thinks his female side is stronger than his male side and he prefers emotional stories.
Björne and the movies:
He launched his career in the movies 2003 with writing and directing the short To Kill a Child (after the novella by Stig Dagerman) together with Alexander Skarsgard. The film traveled to more than 30 film festivals around the globe and won both Grand Prix and the International Press Award at Odense International Film Festival in Denmark.
His feature debut was Kill your Darlings in 2006. (World premiere at Tribeca Film Festival 2006. Scandinavian theatrical release 2007. North American & Canadian distribution in March 2008.)
He made two other shorts Seducer of the Youth (Ungdomens förförare, 2007) and The Fur (Pälsen, 2008).
He's currently developing his second feature under the project name Troll. It's based on a Saga by Elsa Beskow (which was illustrated by John Bauer from the
bestselling book “Bland Tomtar & Troll”, 8th Edition 1914)
