Our new Hollywood star Alexander Skarsgård, 32, jumps on the bloodsucker trend of this autumn. Meet his latest character: A thousand year old viking vampire. He is now making his entrance in the celebrated "True Blood".

- He's a damned smooth guy. It was cool to play with a feeling of being blasé. In a thousand years you have seen quite a lot and I think you stop playing games. He thinks people are running around and are desperately looking for a meaning of things, while he is like "little heart, I've been here for a thousand years, there is no meaning". It has been very amusing, he says.

In USA the female fans have started to open their eyes to him, but Alexander Skarsgård doesn't worry about being jumped in the street.
- I'm wearing a long blonde wig and wear white make up so I really don't think people are going to recognize me, he says.

But the vampire role almost slipped out of his hands. When Alan Ball, who is behind cult declared "Six feet under", was going to start filming, Alexander was in Mozambique on the filming of the war drama series "Generation Kill".

But then script writers' strike came and put "True Blood" on ice - just until Alexander was back.
